A New Role, A New Beginning

Over the last month, GDL has evolved from an organization that is finding solutions to one that is implementing solutions. New interventions, such as the Bagar Employment Institute and the Bagar Drinking Water Initiative, show that GDL is moving into an implementation mode that requires additional man-power. To meet this need, we have hired two new persons to lead our Spoken English initiative and our community building efforts.
My role within GDL has also changed. With new members joining our team and with our focus on delivery, I will now be both heading up both Source for Change, a women-run rural BPO, and manage GDL. My main objective as GDL manager will be to ensure that we are delivering upon our goals, ensuring the smooth operations of the GDL living space and help provide resources to individual team-members to reach their goals. The added layer of structure should help channel our innovation into a more delivery based model that has a discernable impact on Bagar’s development. Onward and Upward!
