Demand for vocation computer-training receiving mixed response so far

My major goal for this week was to finalize the survey and conduct it for the target audience of 150 people. The purpose of the survey was to assess demand for the vocational training, as well as willingness to migrate for computer-based jobs after the training.

I did translate and finalize the survey this week, and also started administering it. Particularly successful was where in one muhalla, I got one of the people I surveyed to then survey other people in the area on my behalf. However, the pace of the exercise overall is slow, and the speed at which people fill it varies tremendously – from 5 minutes to 30 minutes in some cases. Also, unless I get groups of people in one place (such as colleges etc) to fill it out, finding the right people to survey will also add considerable time to the whole process. Out of my target of 150, I would say I successfully conducted around 30 surveys this week. The results are inconclusive. One trend is clear: regardless of whether they want to work in computer-based jobs or not, almost everyone I surveyed would like to learn computers.

Next week I have lined up appointments at a couple of colleges to visit, and I plan to complete all the surveys next week. GDL has a new health intern arrived this week, and I’ll be spending time on-boarding him. Considerable time (and mostly energy) will be spent in shifting the GDL to our new accommodation next door.
